Hi Caue (comment 48),
Thanks for your comment on Skylook.
I am not sure what you mean when you say “categories”. Do you perhaps mean Skype Contact Groups?
Thanks Caue.
Jeremy – Skylook Team
Can we export the skype contacts with the categories where they are listed at? So it can be classified per category on outlook?
Hi ssraj,
Skylook still records conversations, even if you clicked “Don’t show”. That checkbox simply stops the reminder window from appearing.
Double-click the Skylook icon in the system tray during a call to check the recording status. If it’s not recording, it may be because you have reached the end of your free trial.
Regards,
Paul
After every call I was getting a popup message that “Skylook recorded the conversation for you” I mistakenly clicked on the Dont show box, but I need the service. I tried but unable to find that option please help me.
Hi Vesy,
No Mac plans at the moment I am afraid.

Paul
I use Skylook on my PC — great product! When will you release a version for Entourage on Mac?
Hi Justin,
Unfortunately not in the latest releases of Skylook. Since we integrated with the Skype Extras purchasing process (for the 30 day and single day subscription options using Skype Credit), Skylook starts Skype in order to check the license status. We can improve this so that if you’ve purchased a normal full license it can bypass the Skype licensing check. We will look at doing this soon. In the meantime an option for you could be to install version 2.0.3.40 of Skylook from http://www.skylook.biz/history20 – make sure you don’t need any of the changes made since then though (the changes are shown on the page). Version 2.0.3.40 and earlier do not do the Skype licensing check.
Regards,
Paul
Is there any way to stop Skylook from automatically launching Skype when I launch Outlook? Sometimes I’d like to just use Outlook without starting Skype. Thanks.
Hi Chris,
In answer to your question about not being able to run Skylook, please see the following page: http://www.skylook.biz/unabletoconnect . If that doesn’t help, please email us at skylook@skylook.biz for more assistance.
Regards,
Paul
Hi Chris,
Are you talking about the Outlook contacts that appear within Skype? That is actually a built-in feature of Skype, rather than a Skylook feature.
In any case, you can turn it off by going to “View > Show Outlook Contacts” from the main Skype menu (it’s an option that is checked by default – you just need to uncheck it).
Regards,
Paul
Now I can’t install Skylook to my PC.
Everytime i tryed to install it just opens outlook and then stops.
Regards,
Chris
How do you delete contacts that have been sync’d from outlook? Is there away to stop the sync from outlook?
Hi James,
No, they are visible only to you (unless you are using a shared mailbox under Microsoft Exchange, which is not the usual configuration).
Regards,
Paul
When using Outlook does the notes in my Outlook file become visable at all to anyone else besides myself?
Hi Stuart,
In the next release (due out in the next week or so), the wizard will only appear on startup for 14 days after the end of the trial. After that, no wizard, just straight into the free features
Regards,
Paul
Does the wizard asking you to buy keep coming up for ever after you have had the 14 day trial?
You have a very neat piece of softwrae but i dont have any use for all the bells and whistles
But i wont keep using the free bit if the wizard keeps coming up every time i open out look
Thanks
Stuart
Hi Terry,
I will contact you via email to discuss.
Paul
Can you use skylook when making a skypecast. Can you broadcast a saved file as a skypecast broadcast, and if so how do you do it?
Regards
Terry Wright
Hi Curtis,
Yes, Skylook is compatible with Outlook 2007.
Regards,
Paul
Is skylook compatible with Outlook 2007?
Thanks,
Hi Anna,
Each license is for a single PC only, but we generally offer discounts on multiple licenses.
I will contact you via email with details.
Paul
Hi I am looking for a better standard of recording – presently using Hot Recorder – quick question can you install on both your laptop and your PC for the one price?
Hi Harold,
Sounds a little strange – not sure why that might be happening. However, you can work around this by going straight to the update page: For 2.0 this is http://www.skylook.biz/lv20download . For 1.5 this is http://www.skylook.biz/lv15download .
Regards,
Paul
I am being requested to update but when I attempt todo so, I recieve an error message “The Parameter Is Incorrect”.
What am I doing wrong?
Hi Richard,
You can just run the installer – it will automatically remove the old version for you, then install the new one. All of your config and conversations are kept, of course.
Regards,
Paul
Type your comment here.I would like to know if one just overwrites the old skyhock file or do you need to uninstall the old version first thanks?
Hi David,
Yes, Skylook supports Office 2007.
Regarding your other issue – we have not seen that before. It sounds like somehow Expression Web/OneNote are not installed correctly, and then when Outlook thinks it needs to access a OneNote feature, it tries to reinstall it automatically.
Paul
I’m experiencing another strange phenomenon. Sometimes, after recording a Skype converstation, a configuration window launches. It was doing it with Microsoft Expression Web Beta first. I figured, okay, I can live without Expression Web. I have other editors. I uninstalled Expression Web. That seemed to be satisfactory. Yesterday I installed OneNote 2007 Trial. Today after a call (recording) it started a configuration window for OneNote 2007. Have you seen this? Any ideas about what might be causeing this and any ideas what I might do to make it go away? Thanks.
I am wondering about Skylook 2.0 and Outlook 2007 Beta compatibility – I’ll be moving to Vista Business and Office 2007 when it is available, but was thinking of installing Office 2007 Beta now to work with it. Has Skylook 2.0 been tested in the Beta?
Hi Philippe,
Yes you can do this – see http://www.skylook.biz/reviewcommstogether
Paul
Hi,
I am using skylook since yesterday and i would like to know if it’s possible to directly connect the vocal recording to the contact outlook.
I mmean:to have a history in the card contact outlook with a bond wav on each communication to know from this card contact all the anteriority of the communication with the contact
In advance,Thank you
skype: pdurufamily
Paul, as usual, you are right. I closed Outlook and checked to see if it was still in process, and sure enough it was. At least I know where to start to track down what is keeping it in process. Until then, I can end the process in the Task Manager and when I relaunch Outlook, Skylook initiates along with it. Thanks.
David,
It sounds like Outlook is not closing properly. This can be caused by other add-ins such as ActiveSync, and may even be caused by Skype (which talks to Outlook to get contact details). I would try closing Skype and see if that is the problem. To see whether Outlook is still running when you think you have closed it, run Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and look for the OUTLOOK.EXE process.
Paul
Moved my license over to my new laptop from my desktop. Both systems running Office 2003 and XP Pro. On my laptop, sometimes when I close Outlook and open it again, Skylook does not launch within Outlook. Have to reboot windows and launch Outlook again. Did not have this issue on the desktop? Has anyone else run into this? Have any advice? On the PLUS side – I LOVE Skylook 2.0.
Hi Adrian,
Just email us at skylook@skylook.biz and we will reset your key so that you can use your license on your new computer.
Regards,
Paul
I am changing to new computer how do I transfer my licence to the new computer ?
Hi Tom,
Can you tell me what voice mail options you have configured in Skype? (Skype > Tools > Options > Call Forwarding and Voice Mail > Voice Mail > Advanced Settings).
(Please email to skylook@skylook.biz ).
Regards,
Paul
dialed called time out after about 6 rings – skylook does not ring long enough for voice mail or an answereing machine that is set to allow it to ring over 6 r 7 times before the voice mail picks up – is there a setting that can be adjusted – By the way I did not have this problem with the test version
Hi Tom,
Does your foot pedal work with Windows Media Player? If so, you can double-click the MP3 attachment to play it back through WMP instead of through the Skylook playback mechanism.
Paul
Type your comment here. I can not get my foot pedal to assocaite i.e. work with skylook recorded conversatios. My foot pedal works when I record a phone conversation on my mp3 play over a cable jacked into the mic connection on my olympus DM-1…Do you have any suggestions on how to get my foot pedal to work with playing back skylook conversations? Thanks Tom Olson 248-524-0848
Hi Saar,
Skylook is designed to bring Outlook and Skype together. It is possible we will separate some of the features out from Outlook in the future though.
There are a number of ways to add contacts – e.g. you can import your existing Skype contacts into Outlook. If you are wanting to add a new contact to Outlook and Skype, first add the contact to Skype, then use SkySync (Skylook Toolbar > Tools > SkySync) to bring it into Outlook. Alternatively, add the contact to Outlook then select it in Outlook and use the “Link this Outlook contact to a Skype contact” menu option in the contact’s dropdown button in the Skylook toolbar.
Re: recording, there are issues with Vista that we are working through at the moment. We don’t officially support Vista yet but hope to in the near future.
Regards,
Paul
Why can’t I start Skylook in my regular Skype. I don’t want to have to go to Outlook each time.
Next. How do I add/delete contacts in this Skylook/Outlook system?
Last and MOST IMPORTANT! I can’t get anything to record. What could be wrong? I have Windows Vista RC2 and Outlook 2007.
Hi Jose,
Please see http://www.skylook.biz/recordcalls . If you have problems, see http://www.skylook.biz/rectrouble .
Paul
I installed Skylook 1.5.3.228 correctly but I don’t know how to record and play the tallking calls.
Thx
