How to record calls to MP3 or other audio formats How to record calls to MP3 or other audio formats
Here is how you can record phone calls or PC-to-PC calls on your PC. (These steps assume you have Outlook installed – see Skylook prerequisites for details).
1. Follow these instructions to set up Skype if you don’t already use it.
2. If you only need to record PC-to-PC calls, skip this step. If you want to record calls made from your PC to standard phone lines you will need to purchase Skype Credit. If you want to record phone calls made from standard phone lines, you will need a SkypeIn number. You can purchase a SkypeIn number here.
3. If you don’t already have Skylook, download and install it from here.
4. Start Outlook. If you are running Skylook for the first time, you will see the Skylook licensing wizard and the Skylook Welcome wizard. When you see the dialog boxes below, fill them out as shown:
5. If you are not running Skylook for the first time, and you can’t remember how you configured recording when you were prompted by the Skylook Welcome Wizard, click this button on the toolbar:
then click the Recording option page and make sure the options are set as shown:
If you want a format other than MP3, or a bitrate other than the default, click the “Change” button.
6. Start a phone call or PC-to-PC call, either from Outlook or directly from the Skype application. (Skylook will still record calls that you do not start from within Outlook). (NOTE: Recording this way also works for incoming calls, and for conference calls started directly from the Skype application).
7. Recording will start automatically, as indicated by the Skylook call window, which will appear at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen:
8. You can see more detail about the recording by clicking the “Show Details” button:
9. Hang up the call.
10. In Outlook, click on the “Skylook Conversations” folder. Your conversation, with the attached MP3 is listed as an item in the folder.
11. To listen to the recording, click on the item. A “Play” button appears in the toolbar:
Click it to hear the recording.
If you have problems, refer to the troubleshooting tips here.

Can you record skypecasts?
Hi Gilberto,
Skylook recording features can be easily disabled in the Skylook Options menu within the product. To do this, click on “Skylook Options” > “Recording” > and uncheck the “Allow Call Recording” checkbox.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Jeremy Hague

Can this program be used for pc to pc calls for other messengers such as yahoo messenger calls or is there another program available for recording yahoo pc to pc calls?
Hi Matt,
After a call commences, you should see the Skylook call window near the bottom right hand corner of your screen. (If you don’t see it, double click the Skylook icon in the system tray – it’s a little round orange icon).
In the Skylook call window, you have Record, Stop and Pause buttons to allow you to start and control recording.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Paul
I don’t want to record all calls just some, so I have allowed call recording but not selected automatically record.
Once a call is started, how do I record that call please?
Thanks, Matt
Hi David,
The “Outlook” referred to above means Microsoft Office Outlook 2000/XP/2003/2007.
Paul
Your instructions above refers to “Outlook”, do you mean Outlook Express, or some other Outlook
Hi Steve,
I will contact you via email to discuss.
Paul
I need a way to connect a telephone conference call with a live synchronous Webcast. Seems that it ought to be possible INSIDE a computer using Skype & Skylook. I want all participants on the conference call to be able hear everything that anyone participating in the Webcast can hear. I want anyone on the conference call to be able to be heard by others in the Webcast when the “microphone” function associated with the link from the conference call is activated.
Thanks
Hi John,
Yes, the MP3 attachment can be emailed. Easiest way is just to forward the item created by Skylook.
Yes, the MP3 can be burnt to CD, using Windows Media Player or similar.
Paul
Can the MP3 be sent as an attachment in an email? Also, I can burn a CD of this MP3 file?
Thanks.
Hi Vincent,
You can record each side to a separate WAV file – see http://www.skylook.biz/recinterview for more details (the article is about recording podcast interviews, but contains instructions for recording each side to a separate file, then mixing them together later if you wish).
Skylook doesn’t feature automatic noise reduction at present.
Regards,
Paul
Hi, does skylook allow you to record both sides on different tracks? Does Skylook have an automatic noise reduction tool?
Many thanks in advance
Kotzol – You can hide the recording indicators by clicking the “HIde Details” button – is this what you mean?

Hi, No, là è obbligo di pagare tutti i soldi – potete continuare semplicemente ad usare la versione libera (con poche caratteristiche – nessuna registrazione), o il uninstall.
